Mini-Sample Update Bulletin
(test1.pdf)
If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, the newest version
of Acrobat Reader can be downloaded for FREE directly from Adobe. Click
on this
icon to
download it from the Adobe web site.
The procedure to download this free test mini-sample file or an actual
Update Bulletin file is identical to downloading any file from any other
web site.
There are two basic download methods: LEFT
click or RIGHT click. I
recommend that you try both of these methods.
LEFT click Method
Click (with your LEFT mouse button) on
the following link: Download Free Test Mini-Sample Bulletin
(test1.pdf).
If Adobe Acrobat Reader starts immediately (this means that your computer
already has Adobe Acrobat Reader and the browser plug-in), print out the free
test mini-sample while you see it on your monitor. This method does not
allow you to save the bulletin file to your hard drive for future use. If you
want to save the file first, follow my "Preferred Right Click
Method" described below.
Jim's Preferred RIGHT click
Download Method (Win 95/98)
MAC users - click here
1. Save the test1.pdf file -
a) With your RIGHT mouse button,
click on Download Free Test Mini-Sample Bulletin
(test1.pdf).
b) Depending on the browser program (i.e. Netscape, AOL, Internet
Explorer, etc.) that you are using on your computer, you should see a menu of
options after you clicked on the above link with your right mouse button. Look
for the "Save Link As",
"Save Target As" option. Click on
this option with your left mouse button.
Tip: You will see the folder (directory) on hard drive where the file
will be saved at the top and you will see the file name at the bottom. Write
both down so that you can find the saved file to open it.
3. Open the saved test1.pdf file with Adobe Acrobat Reader -
There are many methods to do this.
a) If you have an Adobe Acrobat Reader shortcut on your desktop,
double left click it. Open the saved
test1.pdf file exactly like you open any file with any Windows program.
b) Go to "Start" -
"Programs" - "Adobe Acrobat " and left click on Adobe Acrobat Reader to start the program.
c) Go to Windows Explorer or File Manager and double
left click on the test1.pdf filename. This
should cause Acrobat Reader to automatically start and open the file.
If you have any problems or questions about downloading a file, send an
email to me at download@dulley.com. I check
my emails very often.
Thanks - Jim Dulley
MAC User
Instructions
I do not use a MAC, but I am told that holding down the OPTION key while
clicking the single mouse button creates the same effect as RIGHT clicking on a
Windows two-button mouse. I have also been told that holding down the button
for several seconds accomplishes the same effect.
