Hardy Perennial. Long, slender, evergreen foliage provides the backdrop for erect stems bearing large, aster-like flower heads in blue, pink, purple, white or yellow throughout the summer. Continuous bloom for 4 weeks. This stunning perennial is native to the southeastern United States. Many beautiful cultivars have been developed from the original species. Needs fertile soil and excellent drainage, especially in winter, and a light mulch in northern zones. Dislikes winter wet.
