Hardy Perennial. R. palmatum 'Astrosanguineum' is an ornamental form of rhubarb that can grow to a height and spread of 6 feet. Reddish-purple leaves with dark veining are deeply cut and will grow to be quite large, creating an interesting textural aspect to a foliage garden. Loves boggy conditions and is quite a dramatic and showy plant with its unusual foliage and crimson flower clusters which appear in early summer.
