Perennial. A lovely woodland plant for the shade garden. Leaves are narrow and lance-shaped and of a gray-green color. Flowers are held above the foliage on slender stems bearing blue to pinkish-purple flowers. Blooms are reminiscent of borage flowers. If you plant Pulmonaria in the early autumn, water frequently so that roots will have time to develop before the onset of hard winter. 'Roy Davidson' is the variety pictured.
