Hardy Perennial. Easy to grow and drought tolerant, these showy perennials require a rich to average, well-drained light soil and full sun. They are one of the most popular garden plants grown today. Daisy-like flowers appear in yellow, red, orange, or yellow with red bands. Deadheading the flowers will prolong the blooming season, from June to frost. Tolerates harsh conditions and resisits pests, blooming continuously during hot weather. Cut stems down to ground level in the autumn. Sow seeds in spring; do not cover as light helps with germination. Started early, they will bloom the first year. Divide the clumps in spring.
