Perennial. A choice perennial for naturalizing a woodland setting, it forms a basal-rosetted clump of deep green leaves. The blooms appear in summer and are held above the foliage on dark, wiry stems. They are a deep yellow with red spots and have the distinctive pouch shape of the Calceolaria genus. Prefers a partly shaded environment with moist soil that is humus-rich.
