Hardy Perennial. This is a different-looking flower for your garden. The distinctive blooms are yellow with darker stripes and appear in clusters along a tall flower spike in spring. When dividing in the spring, take care not to damage the fleshy roots. Full sun is preferred but Asphodel will also tolerate some light shade. Best performance is in average soil that is not too rich. A. lutea does not like waterlogged soil.
