Half-hardy Annual. This is an excellent border plant and is usually more affordable for a red bedding scheme than the red-flowering geraniums. This plant has long spires studded with rings of tubular red flowers. It is very attractive in mixed borders. Flowers best in full sun. Will become bushier if you pinch out the tips of seedlings. Seeds need light to germinate and will perform best if kept at a temperature of 70-75 degrees F. 'Lady-in-Red' is the variety pictured which is a winner of the prestigious Fleuroselect Gold award.
