Hardy Annual. Fast-growing, mounded, low spreading plant which is useful as a groundcover. Serrated foliage is decorated with 5-petaled blue flowers with white centers. Though the blossoms are small, their rich colors make them appear almost luminous. Requires fertile, humus-enriched, well-drained soil and you should water regularly if the weather is dry. Propagate by seed in spring where it is to grow, or in autumn if in a mild region for blooming the following winter-spring. Nemophila menziesii 'Pennie Black' is covered with an incessant parade of sumptious rich deep-purple to black flowers with the master touch, a scalloped silvery white edge.
