Hardy Annual. Compact, bushy plant with hairy, lance-shaped leaves and tiny, snapdragon-like blossoms in yellow, red, purple, white, pink, or bronze, and some multi-colors. Deadhead after first flowering. Prefers light shade or full sun with rich, porous, well-drained soil. Cooler climates are preferred. Good greenhouse plant or for rock gardens. Propagate by seed in the spring or it will also self-seed readily. Susceptible to root and stem rot.
