Half-hardy Annual. An excellent selection for the coastal garden after all danger of frost is past. Often selected for the rock garden setting because of its compact mounded form. Good choice for a mass planting. Moderate water is fine but don't overdo it. The same applies to fertilizing. Full sun exposure is the key to success with this annual. The flowers will close if shaded. Flowers are profuse and come in an array of sunny colors. The foliage is dark green and serrated. These seeds are not long-lived and should not be stored. They germinate best at a temperature between 60 and 70 degrees. Deadheading of the fading blooms will prolong the blooming period.
