Half-hardy Annual. This is a compact and neat garden plant which blooms almost continuously in the spring and summer. It is an excellent choice for the mixed bed or border and is easy to grow given the full sun and rich soil it loves. In warm climates it may be grown in part shade. Leaves are very glossy and can be found in variegated cultivars. It prefers to receive water only on the roots and not on the leaves whenever possible. It is easier to buy seedlings of this plant unless you are ready for a propagation challenge. Fertilize regularly for best performance.
