I have had several systems in my house since 1995. I am on a well that provides water so hard that you can fill your concrete forms, let it dry, and use it as a driveway. Not quite, but I wiped out a lumber yard softner, and a premium brand that advertises a lot and can be found in the yellow pages under water. I installed a Kenetco; it has been here since 1998, and still works just great.
