In your article (Daily Herald, 10/23/09, Huntley, IL)you indicate how to calculate a home energy score. I followed your instructions and then I got to the part that says "divide the total amount of BTU's by the SUM OF THE COOLING AND HEATING DEGREE DAYS FOR YOUR CLIMATE" You got me lost in here, what do you mean with "COOLING AND HEATING DEGREE DAYS"? Would this be the product of the number of days when the furnace is working multiplied by what? and the same for the AC?.
I will really appreciate if you can clarify this to me.
