Moss and lichens on shingle roof

My asphalt/fiberglass shingle roof has lichens and moss starting to grow on the north side and to a more limited extent on the south side. I live on a wooded property and removing trees for more sun exposure of the roof is not an option. Does anyone have a solution to at least killing this growth before it becomes significant?
