I'd put styrofoam insulation in the stud spaces, then seal with the expanding foam insulation. Unless you have a lot of solor exposure on that wall, the R-4 stuff isn/t worth very much. Do install a vapor barrier on the inside before you put your sheet rock back on, and be certain to seal up all the spaces around your outlets and switches, and install the foam seals under the cover plates. Also, caulk any holes in the headers where wires or pipes go through the headers. Caulk and windows and doors where they meet the outside wall, too.
