Attic and whole-house fans

Thanks for the great articles on attic and whole house fans. Very informative.

In reading the articles, I did not see whether an attic and whole-house fan could both be installed and used together to move hot air from the living space to the attic, and then from the attic to the outside.

Also, since I have both gable vents and roof turbines (passive), if I were to install attic fans would solar roof vent fans be preferable to gable vent fans?
