I have a Kennetco softener. I have a 5 micron filter that is ahead of a 1 micron filter. Each filter is about 1 foot long and 4 inches wide. I change them monthly. My raw water will leave a measurable amount of mud in your bucket if you let it set overnight. I don't buy concrete, I just fill the hole with my water, and let it dry out, then fill it up again.
