Have we all made a big mistake? I replaced all of our bulbs with the energy saving flourescents because of their energy savings and long life, hoping that I was doing something good for the enveronment. However it seems that they dont really last for the 8,000 or so hours advertised? I have been replacing these bulbs at 400-500 hours. Which brings up my second concern MERCURY! Why havent we heard anything about the fact that these bulbs are more toxic than traditional bulbs. It just doesnt seem very green to me.
Has there been any research on these issues?
