: will a tool rental log splitter split unseasoned elm
: easely or should i let it set for a season.i would like to split it in order to stack it, some of the trunk pieces are over 24" in diameter

A powered splitter will split elm. In fact, that it about the only way to split it. Forget ever trying it by hand.
