Recently, when getting estimates from a HVAC contractor for installation of a new furnace, he commented about our de-humidifier on the basement floor and said they're more efficient if they're elevated on a stand or support closer to the ceiling. Supposedly it will more effectively remove moisture, & therefore run less often and save electricity. I was skeptical, thinking humid air to be heavier than dry and would be closer to the floor & that's where it would work best. Anyone have any comments on this? thanks!
