Dear James,
I live in Buffalo NY and expect to stay here for the foreseeable future.
I am pestered by phone calls and even door to door sales persons trying to sell me gas and electricity. They guarantee me 10% or 20% discounts. I ask 10% off of what? Their responses are textbook obfuscation. One person came door to door and wanted to lock me in for 5 years at a rate of $1.39/ccf of natural gas. I am now paying $1.001/ccf so that hardly seems a deal unless gas prices are going to double.
How can one get reliable information in order to make a rational decision in selecting providers of electricity and gas? The distributers of power and natural gas in my area are National Grid and National Fuel
